SWIMMING.
NORTH CANTERBURY CLUB. The committee of the North Cant-er-Vnirv Amateur Swimming Club met last night, Mr H. .Dix presiding. The Canterbury Centre wrote, approving of the club's 'programme for. the annual carnival to be held in the Rangiora municipal baths oil January 23. It "was si-freed to commence the carnival events at 2.30 p.m.. and to entertain visiting competitors at the Royal 1 ea Rooms. It was decided that the novelty events should take the form of a cork and plate, contest. The half-mile race for J);- Wills's trophy wis _ fixed tor Friday, January 29, at 6.15 p.m.
