The Attorney-General exp'ained that if New South Wales found that she had a shortage, New Zealand would have to net one hundred thousand bushels for the Stato rrom some other part, but if the New South Wales harvest were larger than expected, they would not demand it back. The New Zealand Government replied accepting the terms, and asking that the wheat should be sent as quickly as possible.
