4 King Colo also started. Denver Huon drew the inside position, with Country Belle, King Cole and Emmeline in that order. There wore half-a-dozen false starts, Country Belle falling in the first score-up. King Cole made a bad atari, but the others got away well, and going down the back stretch Emmelino was two lengths in front of Denver Huon, with Country Belle a length behind, and King Colo eight lengths away. Just after passing "the half-mile post Country Belle went to the front, arid King Cole ran into third place. At the cud of a mile the order wm Denver Huon, Country Bo.leand Emmeline, with King Cole four lengths behind. Going down the back stretch Emmeline was leading from Country Belio, with Denver Huon handy.
