FIRES.

At eleven minutes past nine this morning, the Fire Brigade received a call from 10, Huxley "Street, Sydenham, where a five-roomed' cottage owned by Mr Berry and occupied by Mr J. W. Graham, was found to be on fire. The outbreak was not serious, and only slight damage was done to the back portion of the building, and also to the contents during removal. At twenty-two minutes past nine the Brigade received a second call, this time from 42, Falsgravo Street. The owner was engaged in asphalting his footpaths, when tho tar caught fire, but no damage was done.
