The Congregational Union Conference passed a resolution to the effect that the Assembly, in view of the colossal growth of militarism, which is associated with the main source of antiChristian ethics, and seeks to displace the principle of righteousness by the doctrine of the supremacy of might, expresses profound satisfaction at the determination of the Empire to resist to the utmost the temper of arrogance and usurpation, and prays for the success of the Allies in the present conflict.
