The Herman will attempt to break through tlio ice'to reach the Karluk's marooned crew.

A message on Saturday stated that "Tho exploring ship Karluk was crushed in the ice in January. Tlio crew were marooned on Wrangel Island, but their fate is not known, according to private messages received through letters from sailors on Arctic vessels."
