HOCKEY.
CHRISTCHUROH CLUB. The eighteenth annual 'meeting of the Christchurch Hockey' Club was held last 'night, Mr J. Murphy presiding. The report stated that'the committee regretted that there had been a considerable decrease in the membership of the club during the past 6eason. Tins was owing chiefly to the formation of a number of junior clubs. .The committee ' had struck' off the 'names of a number of members who had given up the game and were .taking.no further, interest in the club. Two teams had been entered for; the competitions and the senior team had been successful for the first time since 1906. The sfcater mcnt of receipts and expenditure showed that the finances were in a satisfactory state. Tliere'was cash in hand amounting to £5 9s 7d and assets valued at £lO 16s 7d, witlrno liabilities.- The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho following officers were elected:— President,. Mr J>. Manson; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Murphy and A. IS. Ackr'ovd; club captain, Mr P. Martin; deputy-captain,.Mr "R. Ridley; management 'committee, Messrs H. S. Williams. C. Brown, N. Goldsbury, F. Hutchings, H. Key and G. Hewitt; honorary secretary, Mr TV. E. Earnshaw; honorary treasurer, Mr W. H. Sutcliffe; honorary auditor, Mr H. C Ridley; selection committee, Mr W. Goldsbury and captains of senior and iunior teams; delegates to Canterbury, Hockey Association, Messrs W, H. Suckling and H. Key. Tho opening day was fixed for April 4.
