Alfred Weastell, Patrick Egan and Hugh/Smith were eafch fined 7s and costs for footpath cycling. ' James W. Avery, for cycling' without a light, was convicted and discharged. George Jackson, who was caught, in Riccarton. said that he had his lamp stolen in the city and had walked to the West Belt before getting on. He was convicted and discharged. Arthur Kepple, for riding a motorcycle through Redcliffs at an excessive speed, and, James Hammon, for 'riding a motor-cycle without a light, were fined 10s and costs. Frederick Fairweather was fined 10s and costs for driving a motor-car round the corner of Manchester and Colombo Street. For tailing to sound his horn he was convicted and discharged. Royce Wilson, for driving, a motor-car over the bank crossing at more than six miles an hour was fined 10s and costs.

Percy Breach, aged eighteen, for leaving a , horse and trap unattended, was convicted and discharged. . >• Annie Bell, for' riding a motor-cycle over the corner of Colombo and Brougham Streets at an excessive speed was fined 10s and costs. Thomas Newton Pratt was convicted and discharged for allowing a horso to wander. Mansfield L. T. Busch and William Perry were each fined 10s and costs for lightless cycling.

JUVENILE OFFENDERS. A juvenile offender for cycling on the footpath was convicted and discharged. Another, who admitted the theft of a. revolver valuecTat 15s, the property of William Taylor, of Riccarton, was convicted and ordered to report himself to Mr F. Rule for a year.

Two other, hoys, who admitted the theft of canaries, and who had been previously convicted of stealing fowls, were severely cautioned arid ordered to ome up for sentence when called on.

CONDEMNED. On the application of Mr Fryer, on behalf of the City Council, an order was made to date from April 18, compelling Florence S.- Lawrence to pull down a house previously condemned as insanitary. A BROTHERS' QUARREL. Albert Highsted (Mr Flesher) asked for sureties of the peace against his brother. Walter Highsted (Mr Cassidy). Thzr'e wa-s evidence that Walter had given Albert a thrashing in the street, but there was evidence of provocation. The Magistrate refused to make an order, saving that there were faults ori both'sides, and" both sides were liable to be bound over.

Robert Dickson Warden, a man of twenty-one, an ex-Burnham bov, was indicted on seven charges of breaking and entering and theft. The 'charges were: —March 3, breaking and entering the house of J. R. Preece and stealing £9 or; February 19. entering the house of Susannah Pritchard and stealing three gold and one rheumatic ring, and a gold safety pin, valued at .C 8; February 25, at Woolston, entering the house of Mercy Mnrriner and stealing £1: February 17, entering the house of Henry Woodward and stealing £1 and a. Savings Bank box: February 17, entering the house of John - William .Passman and stealing a gold band ring, a pocketbook and a purse containing £2 15s, of a total value of £5 0s 6d; February 12. entering the house of Richard John Martin and stealing a suit of clothes and a straw hat. valued at £6 ss. Detective-Sergeant Cox, who conducted the case for the police, said that in every case the burglaries had been committed by forcing windows. The accused pleaded guilty to each charge and was committed for sentence at the Supreme Court.
