FOR CASTAWAYS.

THE THREE KINGS DEPOT. [From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, February 11. Dunns'a cruise around the North Auckland coast and the Three Kings in the'lighthouse steamer Hinemoa, the Hon F. H. D. Bell, Minister of Internal Affairs, landed at the Big King island,' where there is a provision depot for castaways. He has come back wondering how anyone but a robust sailor in gpo'd fettle and possessing catlike agility could even get to the provisions in case of need. They are stored on a cliff with an approach which the Minister described to the "Lyttelton Times" correspondent as being like the side of a house. He intends suggesting that a decent track should be made to the depot, otherwise there is a danger of exhausted people coming ashore only to find the much needed food out of their reach.
