BOROUGH COUNCILS.
WOOLSTON. The Woolston Borough Council met last evening; present—the Mayor (Mr J J. Graham) and Councillors L. Hart, M. Gimbl&tt, F. Newton, M. Dalziel, L. Hardy, W. M'Laine and G. Lilley. The Works Committee recommended that the Drainage Board should be asked the cost of widening the bridge at Bell's Creek. The report was adopted. Tne Lighting Committee recommended that a lamp should be placed at the comer of Canal Resorv© and Tilford Street. The report was adopted. Tho Bath Committee recommended that the request of the Swimming Club, that Wednesday night should be given to the Ladies' Club for bathing should be dealt with by the Council. A deputation from the Swimmipg Club explained th© position, and was do» cided to grant th« application. The Florae Minister wrqta admewlodging receipt «f m appliaalrion for £loo for improvements to tha R«ereation Reserve, and stating that the matter was receiving attention. The town j clerk reported that twenty-seven building permits had been issued, the value being £7424.
