ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. [Pjsr tits " Stab's " Pigeon Expbbsb.] At the Addmgton yaras to-day there was a ■ fairly large attendance of farmers, butchers and others, and seasonable supplies of all classes of stock. Fat cattle constituted a considerably increased entry and the natural result was an easing of prices. Store sheep were in very small supply, being limited to half a dozen pens.. Fat Cattle.—The entry of fat cattle showed a substantial increase oompared with the last sale, aggregating 321 head, compared, with 184 at the previous sale, 165 on September 24, and 214 on September 17. All.classes were represented, but the increased yarding ' had the effect of weakening; competition, beef showing a. reduction equal to 2s per 1001b compared with -the rates ruling a week earlier, the,current price being 30s to 88s. Steers made £7 12s 6d to £ll 10s, extra to £2l 10s, heifers £5 10s to £9, extra' to £l3 12s 6d, and cows £5 15s to £8 10s, extra to £l3 10s. The «ales.,included the following lines:-—For D. Fat Lambs.— There was a conslderahie- increase in the. number of fat lambs, 179 being penned, as against 102 lar,t week. The quality showed a fnlltatr off. there being a number of lots of small vounir lambs that did not elicit nnv competition. Prices on account of the larger entry fell off considerably from W. woflk's. Best sorts made 17s to 20s 6d and licrhter 13s 6d to 16s fid. Fat Sttott.— The entry of fat sheep was about that of last week in point of niimbw, and was again m«ide up chiefly of woollv half-brals and cross-bred wbhere,' with a few pons of shorn sheep The sale was late in starting. Rtobb BirrwEP.— The yarding of store pbeep was quite the smallest of the current vear. being lim>ted f to nnlr a dozen pens, nnd consisted principally of owes and lambs, the former being of vnricd quality.
