ANNUAL AWARDS MADE
Tho following is a list of awards mnde by the North Canterbury Board of Education in respect to the agriculture work done in tlio various schools for the year ending August last Prizes of £1 first, 15s second, and 10s third have been forwarded to tho successful schools. Class 1 (consisting of 22 sclioo's with an average ro'l of 130 or over at end of June) — Honthcote 1, Opawa 2, Sumner 3. Schools next in order:—New Brighton. Southbridge, Fendalton and Linwood North. Class 2 (consisting of 26 schools with an averago roll of 65 or over, but less thnn 130) — Hfilswell and Tai Tnpu equal 1, Hinds 3. Kchoo's next in order:—Rakaia> Lincoln, Marshlands, Templeton, Waiau, Amberley, Sprmrston, Prebbleton. Class 3 (consisting of 33 schools having two teachers, but an average roll of less than Gs)—Carleton 1, Winplow 2, Mayfield 3. Schools next in order:—Clarkville, Ash!«y, Oinihi. Swannanoa, Little River, Irwell, Lyndlnjrst. Class' 4 (consisting of 15 sole charge schools', taught by a master) —Springston South 1, Eilcsmcre 2. Schools next ill order:—Springburn. Ilapuku, Westerfie'd. Class 5 (consisting of 29 sole charge schco's taught by a mistress) —Ashton 1. Wakanui 2, Saltwater Creek 3, Schools next in order: —Eyreton, Kowai Bush, LowclifTe.
