TAKEN TO TASK.

MR MYERS ON IMPERIAL DEFENCE. (By Telegraph—Special to " Star.")

WELLINGTON, September 11. Mr Myers took the Minister of Defence to task last evening for informing him that the dominions had no right to permanent representation on the Imperial Defence Committee. He said : "I can only suppose the Minister did not havo time to go into the question before giving his answer, so evasive was it." Mr Myers went on to say that last year Mr Churchill extended invitations to the various dominions to be represented on this committee. Canada, lie pointed out, had already accepted the invitation, while Imperial statesmen at the 1911 conference and again last year welcomed better representation of the overseas dominions on the question of Imperial defence.
