AUCKLAND ATHLETICS.

[From Our Correspondent.] The sports meeting in honour of the crew of H.M.S. IS'c.v Zealand was held in the Auckland Domain yesterday. It had been postponed on account of unsuitable weather on the previous Saturday, but the conditions on Wednesday were also unfavourable, the afternoon being showery and the ground very heavy. A. W. Dormer did not compete, as he was suffering from a severe cold. The principal event was a 75yds Invitation Handicap, in which L. J. Mark and J. J. Mulvihill, of Auckland, and A. Barry, of H.M.S. Now Zealand, competed. This was won by Mulvihill by a foot«n Bsec. Mark did not get away as well as Mulvihill. and suffered defeat as above. Barry was outclassed. Other results were : 75yd?
