Tho complete returns aro not yet to hand, but from those available, I confidently anticipate tho profits available for equal division between your Association and my Association to amount to £3900, made up as" follows: —Davis Cup match, £1600; subsequent tour, £2300 (£2IOO from matches iu Australia, and £2OO from New Zealand)."

A conference of delegates to the Scottish Miners' Federation approved of the principle the establishment of a nationai union of Scottish miners. Consideration pf the rules was postponed for a month.

The boilermakers employed at Cockatoo Island dock have been called out. The boilermakers decline to work with imported shipwrights under what they assert -are not Australian conditions.

The South Coast miners are much disappointed with the amount raised to support the strikers—only £1300; but are loud in .their praise of the prompt and substantial assistance from the New Zealand unionists.
