LONDON, April 29

James Patrick Hayes, trainer, sueci George William Smith, bookmaker, of Leeds, for slander in calling the plaintiff a blackmailer. Hayes's counsel admitted that his client had been warned off the course in Tasmania., but said he was subsequently reinstated. Smith employed Haves as a trainer, and they quarrelled. A verdict was found for Smith, who obtained £5 damages_oii_n. counter charge.
