The Government, hearing of projected Monarchist, extreme Republican W syndicalist disturbances, ordered >recautions. A hundred demonstrators, many soldiers describing vhemselvea as Radical Republicans, iried ineffectively to persuade the enSineers to leave the barracks. The emonstrators then proceeded to the Radical Republican Federation headquarters and received leather bags containing bombs. The police and Republican Guards dispersed the mob, ejected arrests, seized the Federation officers and a quantity of arms, also badges intended for the rebels. About 175 prisoners were taken, including a dozen military and naval officers and a hundred soldiers. . Four dynamite bombs were found in the infantry barracks. The majority of those arrested are Biembers of the Federation. Two bombs exploded in Alcantara iuburb. The troops are confined to barracks, »nd the Carbonari are keeping watch over them.
