Perfect climatic conditions prevailed this morning, iiiid a large number of onlookers was present to watch proceedings, which were of an interesting character. Tbe tracks wero in pood order, -and most of tho work was performed on the ploughed gallop, while tho course proper was open for two-year-olds only. War Step was tho first out, and her task wag a working gallop over half a. mile. Allegory (Deeley), Vice-Admiral (O'Connor) and .Canute (light-weight) then made their way out on to the ploughed gallop. Cantoring around to the milo and a half disc, tho trio act out together, Allegory on the inside* and Vice-Admiial on the outside. The first half-mile was run in 51sec, and two furlongs further on Canute was eased off. Allegory continued to make the pace, and increasing l his lead, finished fully four lengths ahead of "Vice-Admiral, who again performed indifferently. Tho first six furlongs occupied lmin 18 l-ssco and tho full journey 2min 40scc. Allegory appeared to finish well, his performance being quite satisfactory, and a. graat improvement, upon his earlier displays. Gnoitiß (R. King) and M&Hine (Mmssen) galloped a milo in .lmin 47 4-ssoc, whilo Toviotdale brushed over Hi:: furlongs on the course proper in liniu 19 2-ssec. Troon (Gibbon) easily defeated Susa over a mile, the last seven furlongs ,being run in lmin 34 1-Ssec. Masterpiece (Jones) and Autumnus (Emerson) traversed a milo and a quarter in 2niin 11 1-spoc, tho Cup candidate finishing; a good leno-th in front of his companion. Masterpiece finished well, and his effort gained him many admirers. Stardauccr (Mtuseii), assisted by Query over tho last five furlongs, dashed over six furlongs from a standing start in lmin 17scc, and Gvmflash defeated Daylight Bill over a similar distance in lmin if !!-ssec. Obligant (Beny) traversed a milo and a quartet in 2min 14 l-ssec, and Quarantine finished in front of Andrea in a spin over six furlongs. Brown Owl, alone, ran a -milo and a quarter in l!min 15 l-sßec, whilo Earlv Morn brushed over six furlongs in lmin" 18 l-ssee. Mira negotiated two circuits at half speed, brushing home, over the last, half-milo in 51 sec. Master Paul-ran seven furlongs in lmin S-JJacc, and Adehcia and Tho Hague- spurted half a, mile in 51 3-sseo. Odessa alone, traversed' a mile and a quarter in 2mm 14:-oe. Erincngardo (Sell) and Crown Pearl (O'Shea) dashed over six furlongs in lmin lGsec. finishing together and as it appeared as though they could have, improved upon this, their effort, was quite satisfactory. Bronze (Oliver) and boottieh Star brushed over the last half-mile of a medium pace, circuit in 51sec, Bronze going 1 nicely. Equilas put in steady pacing on the tan, and 1 IVirone finished strongly over the last ■ part of a circuit at half npecd. White Cocltade and Golden Loon galloped a mile and a quarter in mm 16»cc, a distune* that Lady Lucy completed in 2min Usee, finishing really well.
