At San Antonio, six Sisters of Charity perished in a fire which destroyed, an orphan asylum. The Sisters- wero heroically trying to eave their charges. Two orphans were killed and eightyfive- saved-. ■ The Mother Superior and other Irish'arid French' nuns dashed into the burnihg dormitory, grasped babies, and handed 'them' out to the firemen, who were stationed on ladders against the ■burning', building. SeveralSisters then jumped for the life-net hut, missed, and were crushed to death on tho ground. The Mother Superior and two nuns were overcome by the flame* and perished in the ruins. .
