In the Federal House, Mr Riley withdrew his motion asking that the " Age's " representative should be excluded from the Press Gallery until he apologised to him. Mr Riley said that when he moved the motion ho was smarting under a sense of great injustice. He found that the "Ago" had apologised for circumstances which ho found to be a mistake. THE PANAMA CANAL. 1 Mr Deakin called attention to tho 'American Senate's decision regarding Panama Canal dues, and asked Mr Fisher if he had had any communications with the Imperial authorities on n question of most vital interest to 'Australia. Mr Fisher replied that lie had obtawrved the decision with regret. It was clearly against the treaty between Britain and America, and involved 'Australian interests. He did not think It wise at the present time to discuss the matter. Ho had already expressed the Commonwealth's views to tho MoMwr 1 Country.
