PIGEON-SHOOTING.

CHRISTCHUROH GUN CLUB. Yesterday tho Chri&tehurch Gun Club held a meeting at its grounds, Papanui. The principal attraction was tho Grand National Handicap, in which there -were twenty-four competitors. The weather was fine, although a cold wind blew all day. Mr J. W. Cassin was referee. The following are the results : Grand National Handicap F. Truscott (23yds), 14 kills, 1; W. R. Grant (27yds), A. H. Free (22yds) and L. Lemon (22yds), 13 kills, equal 2. The following also competed:—James Rao (23yds), 11' kills; 0. Nelson (28yds), E. F. Stead (27yds) and P. 0. Wederell (23yds), 10 kills; A. Gardiner (26yds) and F. Lemon (22yds), 9 kills; E. O'Callaghan (24yds), 8 kiils; 0. Hunter (23yds), G kills; S. Jenson (26yds) and L. A. Shand (23yds), 5 kills; F. G. Frampkm (24yds) and E. P. Graham (30yds), 4 kills; C. E. Brown (23yds), H. Jeneon (27yds) and W. Woolven (26yds), 3 kills; E< R. Kin? (23yds), H. Price (27yds) and G. M'llwrick (28yds), 2 kills; C. E. Sliallcrass (22yds), 1 kill; and E. Graham (27yds), no kills' The winner received GO sovereigns for first prize, and Messrs Grant, Free and Lemon divided the sum of 40 sovereigns. No. 1 20s sweep—A. Gardner (25yds), P. C. Wederell (23yds), T. M. Dean (22yds) and E. F. Stead (26yds) killed all their birds and divided the sweep, taking £3 16s 6d each. There were seventeen competitors. No. 2, 20s —E. F. Stead (27yds), J. Uae (22yds) and C. E. Shallcrass (22yds) divided the sweep, taking £3 each. There wero ten competitors. No. 3, 20g—E. F. Stead (32yda) and L. A. Shand (25yds) tied and shot off, Shand winning. There were five shooters. No. 4, 20s sweep, double rise—L. A. Shaud I. There were five shooters.
