MR W. F. MASSEY.
A .VISIT TO CHRISTCHURCH. Mr \V. K. Massey, leader of the Opposition, arrived in Christchurch last evening from his southern tour. He was met at the railway station by Mr \V. Nosworthy, SI,P., and other friends. Mr Massey is on his way to the North Island, but ho has several political friends to meet in the city, and also lias some private business to attend to. If lm can deal with his business to-day, ho will leave for the North this evening, but if not he will spend another day in Christchurch. When asked for nn interview the leader of the Opposition laughed, and said that he bad absolutely nothing to «ay on any political subject. " 1 have yaid in my speeches all that I wkn to snv or intend to .say," ho remarked, "and if you wish to know what 1 think you can get my opinion from the newspaper reports." In reply to a few questions ho said that he had had a very pleasant time in the South, especially at the- social to Mr T5. P. Leo, M.P.. at Oauiaru, on Monday night, which, he paid, was puccesifiil in all respects. "Tt is quite on the. cards, 1 ' he said, in replv to a final question, "that I shall 'vii-'it Canterbury again before the session."
