rFnoM Our CoKRESi'OxnFNT.] WAITANGI, April 19. The Taviuni will sail to-day with a full cargo of sheep for Lytelton, having completed her charter of three trips since April 1. This constitutes a record in the export of sheep from the Chathams. She takes between 2400 and 3000, according to the size, of the sheep, without any trouble, and can load 3000 in a day and a half. The Taviuni is the finest carp steamer the island has fiver had. She is chartered per day, bub after this trip an average will be made of so much per head shipped. All the shippers are delighted, and live in hopes of a great reduction in freight, with no freight to pay on dead sheep. Captain Brown has fulfilled his part of the charter to the letter, and has shown tho Islanders that sheep can be taken to Lyttelton as safely as tliey can be brought down from the North Island, It is to he hoped that the Union Steamship Company will, in the near future, .see its way to take up the Island trade.
