A remarkable recovery of stolen heirlooms and jewellery in London recently surprised their owner, Miss Hoyie. a ladv living in Chelsea Gardens Her flat was broken into by burglars, who took away an old-fnph-inned brass-bound jewel case. ■ The thieves abstracted from it a necklaco, some silver, and various articles of comparatively small valuo, and even broke away the looking-glass in the bed. 11l the belief that all the valuables were acquired, the case was thrown into a thicket in Chelsea Garden;* enclosure. The day following it was found bv a workman and taken by him to a police station. A police officer therei while examining it, happened to touch a secret spring, which released a drawer containing intact all Miffi Boyle's valuables, including jewel rings, old medals which had belonged to her, father, and many other highlyprized relics.
