SHIPPING CASUALTIES.
[Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, February 5. Whilst tendering the Mokoia last evening, during a heavy swell, the lighter's_ mast- was carried away and the derrick, which fell overboard. The vessel was drifting on to the Tuatea, the Union Company's passenger tender, and the latter went astern to avoid impact. Her mast caught in the steel rope hanging from the'Mokoia's derrick, and the top half of her mast was snapped off. .
