INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION
The principal feature of the day session at tho Canterbury Trades and Labour Council's Industrial Exhibition today was the first invasion by school children. Shortly after ten o'clock, sonio 350 pupils from the Sydenham School arrived, in charge of their teachers, and were admitted free to the Exhibition. Tho Exhibition secretaries were in waiting to welcome their little guests, and each child received a cake or brandy snap or spmo other comestible beloved of youth. Tlio children spent a happy hour or so exploring the various stalls, and were then drafted into tlio entertainments liall, where lantern and biograph views of New Zealand scenery and industries were shown, and Mr W. Coutts Moon gave » descriptive lecture. The entertainment proved entirely to tho liking of the children, and the appreciation of tho audience showod that tho presentation of the beauties and industrial activities of their own land was capable of interesting tho children to quite as groat an extent as pictures of a drainatio or humorous character.
Tho Exhibition was also well attended by adult visitors during tho day. This evening tho biograph picture illustrating tho manufacture of " Zealandia " boots will be added to the other attractions provided in tho concert hall. A demonstration of electrical cooking will l>o given at tlie City Council's stall by Miss Trent, and Mr J. Martin will givo a demonstration of wedding-cake manufacturo and decoration.
