IDLE SUNDAYS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I am a conscientious unbeliever, not a backslider, for I have arrived at that conclusion after much study. At the same time, however, I endeavour at all times to lead an exemplary life. That heing so, on Sunday I cannot consistently attend a church to he persistently taught that which I.know to he untrue, arid there being no other place bpen tho Sundays are spent in idleness, which should not bo. lam sure I am voicing the opinion of the great majority of people in this city, and claim the same privileges which are obtaining in almost every other city in the civilised world, to be able to witness a picture entertainment on the same hours as on other evenings, and if the churches cannot withstand the competition of a harmless picture show, then I am justified in my conclusion that Christianity is not worth very much.—l am, etc., / COSMOPOLITAN.
