THE WOOL BILL VETOED. United Press Association—By Eleetrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 19, 8.25 a.m.) VANCOUVER, August 18. Republican applause greeted the announcement of the Presidential veto of the Wool Bill. When read in the House of Representatives, Mr Underwood, the Democratic leader, announced that he would call the Bill up immediately and endeavour to pass over the veto. Mr Underwood is confident that he will be able to obtain the necessary majority, but he must get the Republican support before the necessary two-thirds can be obtained. The Republicans. supporting Mr Taft believe that the " Insurgents " -will not try to upset the veto.
