ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

[Per Pfkss Association.] GIS BORNE. August- lv>. A woman named Mrs Agn.°s Christie, living with her brother in T/vttou TJcad, died at the hospital to-night. When seen this morning at half-past ten by her sister-in-law she appeared to be all right, but five minutes later deceased was found lying on the flosr with her face flushed and apparently in great pain. She was removed to the hospital and died at eight o'clock this evening. When found on the floor she told her sister-in-law that she had taken some brandy, but a bottle of lvsol was found on the dresser. Some months ago deceased's soil was drowned in tho "Waimata River, and since then she h&s been rather melancholy.
