The Conservative platform for the coming Canadian elections has b6en issued, and contains, as main planks, reform in public expenditure and the removal of the present extravagances, granting a right over their natural resources to the prairie provinces, the construction of the Hudson Bay railway and its operation to be under an independent commission, the encouragement of the chilled meat industry, the establishment of a permanent Tariff Commission, liberal grants for improvement in agriculture, to maihtain the independence of the Canadian Parliament in its own affairs, but to seek to find the highest ideal in the autonomous development of Canada as a nation within the Empire.
