COUNTY COUNCILS.
WAIMAIRI. The Waimairi County Council met yesterday afternoon; present - • Messrs W. J. Walter fin the chair), W. P. Spencer, J. Parish, R. W. Hawke. <T. Hanna and J. Cieland. On the motion of Mr W. J. Walter, seconded by Mr J. Cieland, it was resolved—" That thi3 Council desires to convey to its chairman, Mr S. A. Staples, and the members of his family, tho assurance of its sympathy with them in their bereavement." Owing to tho death of Mrs Staples, it was decided <to adjourn tho meeting until to-morrow, at 7 p.m.
