THE HOSPITAL AFFAIR.
DR WIDDOWSON IN EXPLANATION. Speaking to a reporter in reference" to the statement published that he had said he knew nothing of thedelay in the burial of Wilson, Dr Widdowson stated on Saturday that ho had said nothing of the sort. " The report-er came to mc," said Dr Widdowson. "on Thursday and asked me if it was truo that a consumptive patient had. died and that we had been unable to identity him. To this I answered that such was net the case as fax* as I knew. 1 then referred the reporter to the' secretary. We can always identify a patient in the Hospital, but if a wrong name is given, of course, we cannot help it. Further, there was no reference made by the reporter about a body lying in the morgue for ten days." " Would it be fair to ask you if you knew at that time that a body had lain at the morgue?" asked the reporter. " That would not be a fair question," said I>r Widdowson. smiling. " I will say nothing further."
