At the last meeting of the Geraldine Road Board a petition from several settlers asking that the main road from Beautiful Valley to Kakalm Creek should be extended threo-quarters of a mile to connect with Kakahu Bush Road, was referred to the overseer for a report. The Geraldine County Council wrote regretting its inability to contribute to tho cost, of a bridge on the Woodbury Road. A deputation, presented a petition signed by over eighty residents of Woodbury district protesting' against tho erection of a bridge unless it was capable of carrying ordinary traffic. The chairman of the Board explained that the proposed bridge would carry traps and motor-cars, but not drays or heavy traffic. Tho Board could not afford to build a bridge at present suitable for heavy traffic. Tho clerk reported receipts for the month amounting to £73 2s lOd and a credit balance at the bank of £IO9B 3s 9d.
