ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

[Feb Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 20. Mr Richard Ralph, manager of the Northern Timber Company, was killed at Taupiri, presumably having been kicked by a horse. He was driving, and when alighting from the trap in front of his residence, the accident was presumed to have occurred. GISBORNEI. March 20. Mrs R. Fitzgerald had a leg broken through a buggy accident on Ponawa Road on Saturday, and two young ladies from, Wairarapa received minor injuries. Mr Fitzgerald had a nasty fall when riding for assistance, through his horse colliding with a calf. WESTPORT, March 20. At the inquest on the body of Michael Williams, president of the Wostport Labour Union, evidence showed that he was walking along the railway line on his way home from the races, when apparently he fell from a culvert bridge ten or fifteen feet and sustained injuries to his head. He was seen on the line about 5.45 p.m. on Friday, and was found unconscious at 9 a.m. on Saturday and died at noon. A verdict that he was accidentally killed by a fall was returned.

Mrs Marv O'Malley, wife of Mr P. O'Mallov, fanner, Selwyn, died suddenly on Thursday morning. Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., held an inquest on Friday, and returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence ihat death was due to heart failure.
