CHINESE IN AUSTRALIA.

CUSTOMS OFFICERS DISMISSED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 18, 8.45 a.m.) PERTH, March 18.

Two Customs officers have been recommended for dismissal for laxity of duty in allowing Chinese to land. (The trial of a Chinese storekeeper and a Chinese interpreter to the Customs Department on a charge of smuggling in Chinese resulted in interesting disclosures as to how Chinese reach Australia.
