Dr Jowett, at Birmingham, said lie hoped that his going to America, would prove vhat he thought the King, when he recently saw him, wished might be a link between the two peoples, helping to bind them more firmly together. Sir Edward Grey's work regarding the treaty was'pregnant with tremendous issues. On behalf of England's Protestants, he could express to_ their cousins across the sea deep desire for such a treaty.
