W. M. FEHON. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY,.February 5. The death is announced of Mr Fohon, ex-Railway Commissioner, aged seventy-seven. (William Meoke Fob on, formerly Raihvijy Commissioner for New South Wales, was horn in London in 1834, a.nd as a. youth entered the service of the Eastern Comities Railway Company, with which he remained for two years. Ije resigned for the purpose of mTO : u.g m Australia, arrived in Melbourne in 1858, and soon after was appointed to the Victorian R-ailway Department. After fourteen years' service, and when Traffic Manager, he accepted a partnership in a carrying feai. Ten yea re later he visited .Europe and paid considerable attention to railway management. After his return to Victoria lie engaged in mercantile pursuits, and was appointed a Railway Commissioner for New South Wales in October, 1888. He held office till 1897, when changes were made in the personnel of the Railway OomrtnV sioners.)
