LAND VALUATION.
PROPERTY OWNERS' DIFIMCUL-
TIES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 24, 0.20 a.m.) LONDON, August 23
The intricacy of tho land valuation notices necessary and consequent on the imposition of tho increment value duty, the reversion duty, the undeveloped land duty, and the mineral rights duty, has aroused general protests. It is stated that in the case of some estates eight hundred forms will be necessary, and there is a penalty of £SO on each form unless returned within a month. The " Times " rejects a suggestion of passive resistance by 2 000,000 property owners and advises that an honest attempt should be made to fill in the forms. The "Times" adds the comment that it is probable that the Inland Revenue Department will be unable to cope with tho immense amount of detail involved. Captain Petyman, M.P. (Conservative), declares that if, despite the difficulties, the forms are correctly filled in, the information acquired will soon be obsolete and worthless.
