The areas of the Philippine Islands total nearly 127,000 square miles of land ia 3000 islands. The minerals they contain are coal, gold, lead, copper, iron, sulphur, marble, kaolin, asbestos, oil, gas, mercury, silver, platinum and pearls. The timber includes some of the most beautiful woods in the world, including' molav, lauau and mahogany, unci especially hardwoods. The island of Mindoro alone contains commercial forest with o7'J5 million feet ofimerchantable limber.
