[From Out ConiiKsrotfDENT.l WELLINGTON, July 29. THE NO-CONFIDENCE DIVISION. Of Die seven .members who did not vote on the no-confidence motion, six arc. definitely claimed by the Government, the seventh being Mr E. Newman, a, member of the Opposition Party. The opinion is generally hold that'M.r Massey's amendment was submitted for electioneering purposes, and several Government supporters fell into the Opposition, not and' voted against the Ministry. 'On the other hand. Mr F. M. B. Fisher and Mr R. A. Wright, who hold purely leasehold views, vote:) with the Opposition, and their votes may he discounted on the actual land question. Mr H. G. Ell, the senior Government Whip, told a reporter that he had communicated with six of the members who did not vote, and all had assured him that they would have voted, with the Government. Messrs Luke, M'Laren and Sicley were all staunch leaseholders; Mr Hogan, also a leaseholder, was caught napping by the division.' Mr Wilford is a freeholder, but definitely informed his constituents that ho would always vote for the Government- on a no-confidence motion. Mr Kailiau had always voted with the Government. Mr Ell added that M'.r Sidey had gone to Duncdin on the distinct understanding that he v, as paired with Mr James Alien. Mr Eli says this would have given a majority of sixteen for the, Government.
