[From Ouu Corresi'O.voknt.j ASHBURTON, -inly 29. An inquest was held to-day." before Mr V. G. Day, Coroner, touching the death of Daisy Isabella Hampton, six years of ago, who died in the hospital as a result of burns received on the previous day. After hearing the evidence of the mother of the deceased, James Parky. Marian Houlston, I)r Handcock and Dr Hunter, the Coroner brought in a verdict that death was caused bv shock resulting from burns accidentally received.

Andrew Riddle, aged forty-eight-, and a married man, died at the hospital this morning v'r.om injuries sustained through a fall in Dimeck's bacon factory, Ngahauranga. The- deceased slipped while oiling an overhead shaft and fell head downwards on a concrete floor 3 fracturing his skull und breaking' -.in arm and several ribs.
