NORTH CANTERBURY JOCKEY ( CLUB. The North Canterbury Jockey Club's sports meeting was held on tho Rniigiora racecourse to-day. Ihe weather was fi r ' e > there waa a fair attendance. Tho morning wns beautifully fine, although the air was decidedly chilly. Practically nil of tho work was accomplished on the outside of the course proper, .which provided unproved going. An early start was made, as shortly after eight 'o'clock, Prim mad# her appearance and reeled off five furlongs iii lmin 7sec. Bonny Glen gave Coroniform several lengths start and finished with him at the end of a strongly-run seven which occupied lmin 36 4-ssec. Sharpshooter was slightly better than Ploughshare over half a mile, run in 52 l-saec, while Armamento brushed over six furlongs up the back in lmin 24 l-ssec. Clarence galloped a mile in lmin oGaec, and Zetland spurted four furlongs in 54Jsec. Ifilts ran six furlongs in lmin 27sec, while Los Angelos performed an exactly similar task, but was under a pull throughout. Fisticuff was going l better than Musterer at the end' of a spin over six furlongs, run in lmin 2-lsoo. Federal spurted half a mile up the back in 55 l-sscc, and Ingoda ran half a mile comfortably in 53sec. Uineraboy compassed a circuit, at throe-quarter speed, and Grand Slam ran half a milo in 57 2-ssec. King of Trumps and Ratepayer, together, put in & jvorking gallop over a mile and a quarter, and Rose Noble, Guianforte and Scotch Plaid finished abreast at the end of a spin over five furlongs, run in lmin 7aec. Canterbury galloped six furlongs in lmin 24sec, w"hile Nautiform ran a similar distance in lmin 22scc, and wan apparently fully extended. Ideate ran half a mile in 56sec, and Prophet compassed two circuits ut half nnd three-auarter pacing, moving freely and well. Stono Ginger was responsible for solid work extending over two circuits, end Te Arai and Loch Fyne put in half and three-quarter pacing over two roundk. finishing up fast over the last five furlongs, Te Arai showing to most advantage. Eurus, Northern Stair and King's Way, together, traversed a mile and a half in 3min 6sec, and ICiatere and Bulhvorth galloped seven furlongs iu lmin losec. Fasnakyle, Luperin and St Kevin finished abreast at the end of a spin over six furlongs, run. in lmin 22 2-sseo, while White Cockado, going freely, reeled o£ a similar diatanco iu lmin 21 2-seec. Red traversed a mile at three-quarter speed, while Gold Braid was going better than Medallist over six furlongs, run in Iniin 23 2-ssec. Merry Lass and Farley Grove brushed over five furlongs in lmin flsec, and TVoolloo-T'-00100 was going better than Waitapu at the end of a strongly run mile and a quarter, the last nine furloiigs of which occupied 2mm "J 2-sf?ec. Brilliancy dashed over five furlongs in lmin 6 3-ssec, a pleasing performance; and Comuass easily defeated Tyrannic over a strontrlv run seven furious. Otakeho and Pretty Nell brushed over live furlongs in lmin Boec. and Rock Ferry and Freak ran a similar distance in lmin 8 3-5 sec. Le Beau and Explosive registered a working gallop over ten furlongs, while the following horees performed lip-lit tasks:— Love Lome, Probable. JTiirhtlisrht. Sea King, Southern Cross, Takaroa and Kremlin.

Yesterday's arrivals including "YVnuchone, North-East. Mahuta, Muster Paul. Tn.wha.ki, Stayboy, Capitol, Totilci and Eleetrakoff. were out, and performed useful to light tasks.

The racehorsos Paiss.no, Stonrlon and Paritutu arrived from tho north to-day to fulfil their engagement# at the Grand .National meeting'.
