AN INDIAN APPOINTMENT. United Press Association—By Electric I'elegrapli—-Copyright. (Received July 28, 8.5 a.m.) 1 LONDON, July 27. It is announced that Mr William Henry Clarke, one of the principal clerks in the office of the President of the JBoard of Trade, and formerly private secretary to the Eight Honourable D. Lloyd George, when at the head of the Department, has been appointed a member of the Council of the Viceroy of India, in succession to the late Mr W. L. Harvey, C.1.E., who was in charge of the Commerce and Industry Department.
