[Per Pkess Association".] NAPIER, July 26. Mr John Orr, for many years road overseer to the Hawke's Bay Couiity Council, die<l suddenly while driving alone in a motor-car in Hastings today. There was- no accident, but when the car, which was noticed to he going slowly, stopped by running into the kerbing, Orr was found to be dead. He was an old and highly-respected resident of Hawke's Bav.. WELLINGTON, July 26.

John. Thomas White, who had been a boarder at a house in Binham Street for the last six years, died suddenly this morning. Deceased, who had been subject to fits, was sitting in a chair: in front of : %e "lire- when"he" suddenly fell and expired almost immediately. At an early hour this morning Andrew Riddle, a. married man, whose family reside at Petone., was seriously injured at Diraook's hacon factory at Ngahaurauga. Riddle and another man were engaged in oiling the bearings of the overhead machinery. Riddle lost his balance and fell head downward to the concrete, floor twenty or thirty feet below, fracturing his skull and breaking an arm and several ribs. He was picked -up unconscious and brought into the hospital, where ho lies in a critical condition. Iliddle is i'orfcy-eigh b years of age and has been in the employ of Messrs Dimocb and Co. for a considerable tune.

A lad named Evvan Milne, who was taken to the Cbristchurch Hospital on Monday, had his log broken on Saturday in a football match between. Lincoln College and Leeston, played at Leeston, not at E'alswell, as was previously reported. He received attention from Dr Nathan at Leeston before his removal to Christchurch.
