Once or twice statements purporting to give |tiiß viewa of tho Vatican on the question of disarmament iiavtJ been published. only to be denied semi-oiikially. The most recent etat&ment on the matter indicated that tho Vatican did not care to interfere' actively v.'ith the temporal policies of tho nations, but it was implied that the Pope's influence T?as always exerted firmly on the side oi peace.
