NORTH BRITISH RAILWAY MEN. United Press Association—By Elcctrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 26. The North British railway men are agitating whether they shall repudiate the Conciliation Board. They allege that concerted action oil the part of tho companies renders the Board. ineffective.
THE CANADIAN RAILWAY STRIKE. OTTAWA, July 26. Mr Hays's refusal of arbitration on the ground that the offer is too late indicates that the Grand Trunk Compauy intends to fight to the end. The president of the Trainmen's Union declares, that, the Union will support the men and the company will be the loser. Meanwhile tho freight service is gradually being resumed, and the shops at Montreal, London and Ottawa have reopened. A passenger train was derailed at Du>-hiOn, Quebec. Five persons were injured. An inquiry into the accident is proceeding. »
