A message from Borne states that the Mafia Society in Sici-ly has set up a reign of terror against the landowners and wealthy merchants. At Alcamo a vigneron, was shot dead, and a fanner was clubbed to death. The ruffians then quarrelled over their booty, with the result that three were stabbed, their heads were cut off and their bodies buried with tho feet sticking out of the earth.
