THE AKAROA CARNIVAL

[From Otjb Correspoxdent.] AKAROA, March 31. Akaroa is carrying out the carnival piogramme under rather adverse conditions. Yesterday afternoon was given over to hockey on the recreation giound. Last evening there was a water display by tho fire brigado, which served to show the usefulness of the water supply of the borough. A brief display of fireworks concluded tho day's programme. For to-day the Boating Club has arranged a picnic to Tikao Bay, across the harbour.
