GOVERNOR'S FAREWELL.

LORD PLUNKET AT NAPIER. [Pee Prkss Association.] NAPIER, March 3. Perfect weather prevailed for the ceremonies incidental to Napier's farewell to Lord Plunket. At eleven o'clock hi« Excellency formally opened the Children's Ward at the hospital, built by. Mr W. Shrimpton, ohairman of the Hospital Board, as a memorial to bis son. Lord Plunket warmly applauded the donor's public-spirited action, and declared the ivard open. At noon a formal farewell ceremony took place on the Marine Parade, in the presence of a great concourse of people. An address was presented to his Excellency, and appreciative speeches were delivered. Lord Plunket was subsequently the guest of the Mayor at luncheon, and left at three o'clock by motor-car for Hastings,
