THE HON D. BUDDO.
" The session has been one of the most strenuous I have ever been connected with," said the Hon D. Buddo. " The legislation passed has dealt with hospital and charitable aid administration, land settlement finance, land settlement under the State guarantee system, defence, old age pensions, Native land, death duties, Friendly Societies' administration, workers' compensation and civil service superannuation, to mention only a few of the new Acts. I believe that the results generally will be satisfactory." The Minister mentioned that he hoped within a week to make public details of the reorganisation of the Health Department. The existing system under which a good deal of the control in regard to inspection lay in the hands of the local bodies would be continued, for experience had shown tnat it was satisfactory. The local bodies were in a position to deal efficiently with matters of sanitation and public health.
